InaktivHi,
I’m wondering why my Jura Impressa E75 displays „FILL BEANS“ after almost every cup? Of course I’ve filled the container with a lot of coffee-beans. I’ve had this problem for a long time now and are tired of trying to „help“ the beans come into the grinder with my hand for every cup.
What triggers this error?Regards from Sweden

InaktivI think your grinding mill is clogged. So that the bewing unit gets not enough coffee.
If you try to get a strong coffee….do you still have the same problem?
Please try it out.
Can you take a photo of your trester?

InaktivI have cleaned the grinder 2 weeks ago and also checked the status of the grindingstones (they seemed to be in good shape).
I don’t seem to get a strong coffee at all…. please see my other inlay today.
When I „help“ and pushes beans into the grinder with my fingers I don’t get the message. But I assume that isn’t the correct solution ::)
Then I have to apologize because my english-translations have gone into a dead-end 😮 What’s the trester? ???

InaktivHi again,
Now I’ve taken a photo of my trester.
Could you make any conclusions from it? ???// Christer

InaktivYes,
first…. the Trestertabs seem to be very small/thin.
second….they dont have the typical form, they should have.
third….the coffeegrinding is very roughly.….it seems to me like a grinding-mill-problem.
Have you cleaned the mill under the grindig stone an the output towards the brewingunit?

InaktivThanks for your answer.
I’ve taken apart all of the pieces in the grinding-mill according to the servicepapers from coffeemakers.de and cleaned them.
If you mean the plastic parts that makes the grinded coffee to get together into the small drop towards the brewingunit I’ve had that part out and cleaned it good.
It was very messy and needed cleaning. But all this I’ve done 2-3 weeks ago… :-\I think the grinder is set to a middle grinding position right at the moment. I always hold the start-button until I get the Espresso-extra.
Should the trestertabs have a special form? I think my coffeegrinding mostly don’t have any shape at all it just lays in a heap.
But could it be that the grinder don’t get enough coffeebeans? I mostly have to help the beans with my fingers to make the beans get down to the grinder otherwise there is the „Fill beans“-errormessage. What triggers this message? Is there to little beans in the holder or is it to little grinded coffee coming out of the grinder or..? ???Could I do something more to give you better information for analycing?
Maybe I could brew just 1 cup and take a photo of the trester. Maybe measure in some way how much coffee there is in a trestertab.
Could I put the coffeegrinding out on a white paper a take a photo to see better the size of the grinded coffee? Thanks for your efforts

InaktivHi Christer,
Maybe you would like to compare your used coffee ground with that one…
Ralf.

InaktivMy problem has now grown bigger….
I get the „Fill beans“ after every cup now.I tried to take away the small circular plastic in the bean-box, covering the input to the grinder. It seemed that the situation became better. But after 15-20 cups the situation has become worser. Now I need to use my fingers to pressure the beans into the grinder to prevent the „Fill beans“-message even without the plastic . When doing this it seems that the used coffee ground seems more like your picture.
From this I wonder if I need to take apart and clean the grinder again? It seems that the grinder couldn’t get hold of enough of beans normally which leads to thinner coffee. When cleaning my grinder the last time I follow your step-by-step guide and are almost certain that I did everything correctly. Could it be that the grinder had been taken apart before I bought it and not correctly put together? I still also wonders what it is that triggers the error-message? It couldn’t be the level of beans in the container…could it be the amount of grinded coffee or…?
Do you have any suspicions of what’s wrong?
Regards from an icy cold Sweden

Inaktiviiiiiiiiii believe…..i mean…if you say that your coffe and your coffeeground/trester is ok…..that your encoder is defective. Perhaps the encoder counts in a wrong or some signals are missing…
u know what I mean? ….I’m sure u don’t….but i don’t know how to explain. ;D

Inaktiv???
If I open the hatch to the beans and use my fingers to help and push down the beans more effective into the grinder (I even removed the circular cover for the grinder)everything seems OK. The coffeegrounds looks OK, the coffee is wonderful and the error message isn’t there.
But if I don’t help the beans (hope I’m not supposed to be putting my fingers into the beans-box for every cup ;D) the errormessage of „Fill beans“ is blinking and I get a thin coffeeground in my trester.I don’t think there is anything wrong with the signals I just suspect there isn’t enough grinded coffee for a cup if I don’t help to force down enough beans.
But why isn’t there enough of grinded coffee? And what triggers the errormessage „Fill beans“? ???Hope you can understand what I meen.

InaktivHi Christer,
There is definitely something wrong with your grinder! Have you checked that everything is ok with the spiral part on top of the inner grindstone? That part is responsible for bringing the beans in between the inner and outer grindstone.
And what triggers the errormessage „Fill beans“?
You will get that error message when the control program of your Jura detects that there is not enough coffee ground in the brewing unit to produce a coffee. Then the brewing process stops and the error message „Fill Beans“ will be displayed.

InaktivAlso ralf mal kurz my thoughts in german….
also wenn der encoder sich verzählt dann kommt die meldung logischerweise auch?!?!?
also wenn er sagt der trester ist dick genug und der kaffee stark genug kanns ja nicht am grinder liegen?or what do you think about this theorie?
23. Januar 2006 um 21:36 Uhr #26095Anonym
InaktivHey Nico,
Let me think out loud, too:
If Christer has to press the beans with his fingers into the grinder to get them grinded, do you think that is a problem of the encoder ??? 😮 ???
Ralf.
Hey Christer,
What about taking a photo of your „Trester-Tab“?
Ralf.
23. Januar 2006 um 21:50 Uhr #26096Anonym
Inaktiv…no but he says that…der kaffee kommt auch normal raus …if he don’t pushes the beans int the ginder…so hab ichs verstanden.
